Request for special meeting made by President Jeremy Viers and called to order after unanimous voice vote with the following members in attendance: Jeremy Viers, Gary Mohre, Marvin Hug, Terry Bartel, Jim Walker, Tom Szymczak, Steve Schlosser, Logan Clevidence, Keith Jones, Ed Biederstedt, Homer Chapa Jr., Paul McCord, Kyle Miller, Shawn Fulk, Justin Coffman, Steve Suchocki, John Rathke, Steve Mendez, Chris Chapa, and Dan Cline.

Jeremy Viers provided briefing on former FOP #181 Lodge Member Sam Yoh who had worked for Bryan Police Department prior to being employed as a Patrolman at the Ozark Alabama Police Department.  Sam Yoh was critically injured in a shooting that occurred December 12th at about 9:50 p.m. while police were responding to a call in the 100 block of Briar Hill Court in Ozark, according to the Ozark Police Department.  Officer Yoh saw a man walking in the roadway holding a rifle.  When Officer Yoh got out of his patrol vehicle, the man immediately began shooting at him, hitting Officer Yoh and his vehicle multiple times.  Ozark police said Officer Yoh and other officers returned fire, ultimately shooting and killing the gunman.  Captain Tim Hicks of the Ozark Police Department contacted President Viers and advised that Officer Yoh sustained multiple gun shots to the head and suggested that Officers be prepared to participate in services as that outcome is uncertain at this time.  Motion by Steve Schlosser and 2nd by Ed Biederstedt to fund reasonable expenses of food and lodging for member representation to travel to services in Alabama in the event that circumstances warrant.  Motion passed after voice vote.

No other items were discussed during this special meeting held at the Bryan Police Department training room during the Cops with Kids Program.
