Meeting called to order by Secretary Jim Walker at Lodge with the following members present: Motion by K. Beck, 2nd by J. Arnold to accept the minutes of the last meeting as posted. Motion passed after voice vote. Treasurer’s report: (refer to hard copy of minutes) B. Noethen advised that two $5,000 CD’s will mature the end of October. Motion by J. Arnold, 2nd by J. Doseck for Noethen to investigate other CD options and reinvest as necessary. Motion passed after voice vote. B. Noethen reported we have received a valuation notice from the Auditor’s office listing the Lodge property at $16,500 for the land and $55,300 for the buildings for a total value of $71,800. New members Kim Shaffer and James Eaton introduced themselves. J. Walker presented a letter from the Health Department requesting a donation to assist them with the tax levy they are placing on the ballot. As this is a political issue, the lodge will not be making a donation. J. Walker read a Thank You card from Sadie Griffin for her scholarship award from the Lodge. J. Walker reported that Roger Brown has retired from the Sheriff’s Office and stated that he is eligible to be made a life member of the Lodge. Motion by G. Horn, 2nd by K. Shaffer to move Roger to life member status. Motion passed after voice vote. J. Arnold reported that ‘Cops with Kids’ will be held Saturday, December 15, 2007. J. Arnold requested renewing the contract with the ‘Cops with Kids’ solicitors for another year. Motion by B. Noethen, 2nd by J. Doseck to renew the contract. Motion passed after voice vote. After some discussion, the date for the Criminal Justice October Fest was set for Saturday, October 20, 2007 beginning at 6:00 PM. R. Brown and T. Harding had previously volunteered to host the event. B. Noethen to purchase refreshments and J. Walker will get the hay wagon. There being no further business, motion by M. Mohre, 2nd by G.
