Meeting called to order by President Stan Nihart at the Lodge with the following members present: After the reading of the minutes of the last meeting, motion by K. Beck, 2nd by C. Rose to accept. Motion passed after voice vote. Treasurer’s report: (refer to hard copy of minutes) New members: S. Nihart reported that the tile over the hill is a County tile and they will repair it. S. Nihart reported the new French door has been ordered from Thermo-Tru. B. Noethen reported he will get prices for various styles of bar stools for the game room. C. Rose reported that ATF has been busy with July 4th activities. Fuzzy Zeller will be in the area soon to check locations for a possible demo in the future. C. Rose reported that Town & Country, Bryan, has a 4 ft lawn roller for less then $200. No further action was taken. After some discussion, it was decided to just hold our October Fest this fall. J. Walker presented a proposal to create the position of a Lodge Historian that would be responsible to maintain newspaper articles as well as photographs labeled with names and dates to be kept on file at the Lodge. Motion by J. Arnold, 2nd by C. Rose to create the position of ‘Historian’. Motion passed after voice vote. J. Arnold recommended R. Walsh to fill the position of Historian. It was decided that since she was not present, the secretary should contact her to ask if she would be interested. (She was contacted 06/25/03 and accepted the position.) J. Arnold volunteered to write up a proposal for the Historian position, to be presented and voted on at our next meeting, for inclusion in our Constitution and By-Laws. It was reported that the work detail held Sunday, June 22, 2003 was attended by 5 members. The FOP sign was removed from the building and work begun on repainting it, weeds were sprayed and grub killer was spread on the lawn. C. Rose reported he has spoken with Cort Goshia of Orchard Hills Flowers about landscaping around the Lodge. They will work up a design and report back to us. After some discussion on what to do with the over-head door that is being replaced by the French door, it was decided to keep it in storage for possible future use on the garage. J. Arnold lead discussion on the future possibility of transplanting some pine trees located on the west of the lodge to the grounds east of the drive, also the possibility of transplanting some trees located over the hill onto the grounds east of the drive. He reported we could get them moved at a rate of approximately $40.00 per hour. No further action was taken. There being no further business, motion by C. Rose, 2nd by J. Viers to adjourn.
