Meeting called to order by President Kevin Hager at the Lodge with the following members present:
Kevin Beck, Jim Edwards, Stan Nihart, Scott Pollick, Jason Shaffer, Steve Suchocki and Jim Walker. Excused members were Jeff Arnold, Greg Brillhart, Stan Bryner, Matt Krill, Lee Lawrence, Carl Long, Colin Rose and Rachelle Walsh.

K. Hager announced the high bid for the old air compressor went to D. Griffin for $50.01.

Motion by S. Nihart, 2nd by J. Shaffer to accept the minutes of the last meeting as posted.  Motion passed after voice vote.

No Treasurer’s report as the Treasurer is not present.

K. Hager announced the Spring cookout at the Lodge will be held Saturday, July 13, 2002.

K. Hager advised that Pioneer Monument quoted a price of $8,836.00 with Fackler Monument quoting $4,100.00 for the memorial marker to be placed on the Courthouse Square.  Both prices include setting the marker.  Motion by J. Walker, 2nd by S. Pollick to accept the Fackler bid and proceed with the purchase.  Motion passed after voice vote.

After much discussion, motion by S. Nihart, 2nd by S. Suchocki to accept the criteria for the names to be considered to be placed on the memorial marker as follows:
“Any sworn law enforcement officer currently or serving, or that formally served in Williams County and is currently serving another jurisdiction, that was killed, or died, as a result of injuries sustained in the performance of his/her official duties is eligible to be presented to the Captain Custar Lodge FOP Memorial Committee, then to the general membership, for approval for the placement of their name on the Police Officer memorial marker located on the Williams County Courthouse square.”
President Hager requested a roll call vote with the following results:

J. Edwards:  Yes
K. Beck:  Yes
J. Shaffer:  Yes
S. Nihart:  Yes
J. Walker:  Yes
K. Hager:  Yes
Motion passed 8-0.

After some discussion, barron was chosen as the new password for the members web page.

K. Hager requested that D. Griffin remove the trash located on the bottom ground that he had taken out of a trailer when he removed the trailer.

K. Hager reported there will be a regular meeting in June then not again until September.

K. Hager presented a request from F. Reimann that he be reinstated as a regular member.  After some discussion, it was decided to table a decision until the next regular meeting.

K. Hager reported that the lodge purchased an afghan for Lee and Bobbi Lawrence for their daughter’s funeral.

There being no further business, motion by S. Nihart, 2nd by J. Arnold to adjourn.  Motion passed after voice vote.
