Meeting called to order by Secretary Jim Walker at the Lodge with the following members present:
Jeff Arnold, Matt Arnold, Kevin Beck, Rachelle Delno, Tracy Harding, Bill Hodapp, Matt Krill, Carl Long, Mose Mohre, Bill Noethen, Colin Rose, Jim Snivley, Steve Suchocki and Jeremy Viers. Excused members were Greg Brillhart, Dan Griffin and Stan Nihart.

Motion by J. Arnold, 2nd by S. Suchocki to accept the minutes of the last meeting as posted.  Motion passed after voice vote.

Motion by M. Krill, 2nd by R. Delno to accept. Motion passed after voice vote.

Tim Schortgen, Defiance Police Dept., spoke requesting a donation to build a baseball clubhouse at the Defiance High School in honor of Tpr. Frank Vazquez to be named Vazquez Champions Clubhouse.  His goal is to raise $15,000 and he has been able to collect $7,000 so far.

Danielle Nihart spoke reporting she has been chosen as an Ambassador to Europe and is requesting a donation to assist with her expenses.  This is a 16-day trip and will cost her approximately $4,000.  She reported she will be playing flute during the trip.

A college scholarship application has been received from Tara Arnold, daughter of M. Arnold.  She spoke and reported she has been accepted at Ball State University.

After the 3 persons left and after some discussion the following donations were made:
Motion by B. Noethen, 2nd by M. Krill to present Tara Arnold with a $500 scholarship award.  Motion passed after voice vote.
Motion by K. Beck, 2nd by R. Delno to donate $500 towards the Vazquez Champions Clubhouse. Motion passed after voice vote.
Motion by K. Beck, 2nd by R. Delno to donate $1,000 to Danielle Nihart for the Ambassador to Europe trip.  Motion passed after voice vote.

B. Noethen reported that J. Walker had been involved in the rescue of a baby that drowned after falling into an in-ground swimming pool.  The baby, 15-month-old Terrell Nichols, is currently in Toledo Hospital and doing well.  Motion by B. Noethen, 2nd by S. Suchocki to present plaques to Edgerton Chief Jim Walker, citizen Scott Myers and EMT’s Louis Herman and Curtis Wright for their life saving efforts.  Motion passed after voice vote.

J. Walker reported the lawn roller has arrived and the spreader has been purchased but we’re still waiting on its delivery.

After some discussion concerning the CD funds that have now been placed into the savings account, M. Mohre was asked if he would be willing to set up a Financial Foundation Plan & Budget as it was determined we should have a written policy in place.  He agreed to this.  Further discussion determined the need for a financial committee.  D. Griffin, M. Mohre and B. Noethen were appointed to this committee.  They are to continue further investigation on the best way to invest the money and report back at the next meeting.

M. Mohre thanked everyone for the Honors Banquet and D. Buchs had sent a thank you card.

There being no further business, motion by M. Mohre, 2nd by S. Suchocki to adjourn.  Motion passed after voice vote.
