Meeting was called to order by Gary Mohre who also led The Pledge of Allegiance.
Members present were Justin Coffman, Adam Foster, Nick Lanzer, Tyler Maynard, John Rathkel, Ed Biederstedt, Matt Krill, Gary Mohre, Andrew Skiles, and
Jeremy Viers. Also present was transferred Member, Tyson Wasilewski.
Motion by Matt Krill to accept the Secretary Report posted online. 2nd by John Rathke with motion passing with voice vote.
Treasurers Report given by Justin Coffman. Motion to accept by Matt Krill, 2nd by Ed Biederstedt with Motion passing with voice vote.
Justin Coffman spoke more about the Lodge's decision to move the accounts and about separating scholarships to an account with gains to help keep it available in the future.
Motion by Gary Mohre to accept Scott Shuping as a member. 2nd by John Rathke with Motion being passed after voice vote.
OLD BUSINESS:
Jeremy Viers reminded members that the Conservation Easement for the Lodge was accepted.
NEW BUSINESS:
Jeremy Viers brought the calendar for Members to sign up for mowing.
The Scholarship Committee approved 9 applications for the scholarship of $1,000.00. Recipients: Elijah Fry, Madison Foster, Victoria Chavez, Kaitlyn Mills,
Kally Randall, Brady Williamson, Tyson Williamson, Izabella Chapa, and Reagan Jacob. Motion by Matt Krill with 2nd by Ed Biederstedt with Motion passing after voice vote.
The Scholarship Committee also discussed additional qualifications added to the application for future applications. Motion by Andy Skiles, 2nd by Justin Coffman with Motion passing after voice vote.
Members are talking about how and when the furniture might be replaced. Coffman thought a committee might be able to get more information and talk about what type of purchase or updates to the buildings to present their decision to the Members. That conversation will be tabled for further discussion.
Justin Coffman pointed out damage from some decorations from an event. He wanted Members to take care and clean up the Lodge after an event.
Justin Coffman wanted everyone to know that dues must be paid earlier and ways that might be done. The Lodge sends several thousand dollars to the state for benefits and insurance. There were discussions about using Venmo as an easier way for Members to renew their annual dues. Motion by Matt Krill to use Venmo with 2nd by Ed Biederstedt. Motion passed after voice vote.
There were more conversations about communicating with members. Since some do not use facebook, it’s becoming more difficult to pass along information that is important and likely more personal. Adam Foster stated that he uses Team Reach in a couple ways which might be something the Lodge might be interested
in. Some Members present were familiar with this app and would like to try it before being released to the Members. Motion by Justin Coffman to try using the Team Reach App with 2nd by Nick Lanzer. Motion passed after voice vote.
Matt Krill mentioned that the L.O.S.S. Team is looking again for help regarding serving those that have gone through the loss of a family or friend to
suicide. Motion by Tyler Maynard to give 15 gas cards with 2nd by Tyson Waselewski. Motion passed after voice vote.
Andy Skiles mentioned that our District Delegate, Mike Watson was present to talk more about the conference. Attending the conference was getting to hear about important topics that the Ohio FOP is involved with. He mentioned that this year there will be several state and national candidates from Ohio to talk about why they are asking for the FOP support for the fall elections. Conference is for one delegate and one alternate to cover attendance from July 18, 2026 to Tuesday, July 21, 2026. More information will be available at the next meeting.
Tyler Maynard gave information about the Park with Police event for kids on June 15 at 10:00 for kids ages 2-10. There will be a lot of events so many officers are invited to attend to help. It will count as a work day for Members that attend. Motion by Tyson Wasilewski to give $1,000.00 with 2nd by Ed Biederstedt with Motion passing after voice vote.
Tyson Wasilewski brought a flyer for the Friends of the NRA fundraiser being held on May 9, 2026 at 5:30 at the Defiance VFW Post. Motion by Matt Krill to purchase the $1,000.00 table, 2nd by Tyler Maynard with Motion passing after voice vote. 8 tickets will be available for the dinner with 8 tickets for the $100.00 raffle and 8 chances to win a Hellcat handgun.
