Meeting called to order by President Stan Nihart at the Lodge with the following members present: Motion by B. Noethen, 2nd by S. Suchocki to accept the minutes of the last meeting as posted. Motion passed after voice vote. Treasurer’s report: (refer to hard copy of minutes) President Nihart requested the secretary to send a letter to G. Brillhart advising him, due to his resignation, he is now eligible for Life Member status if he wishes. J. Shaffer thanked the membership for the donation for the FOP Polar Bear Plunge and reported the total amount raised State wide was $105,000. He came in third place by raising $3,605.00. President Nihart reported that any scholarship applications should be turned in no later then April 15, 2005. President Nihart appointed J. Shaffer, M. Krill and J. Walker to the scholarship committee. They are to review the applications and make their recommendations at the first regular meeting after April 15. J. Viers requested some changes to the by-laws. President Nihart referred him to the By-laws committee who are to make the recommendations back to the membership. J. Viers presented the membership death benefit insurance coverage that was tabled at the last meeting. After much discussion, motion by J. Viers, 2nd by J. Arnold to rescind the previous motion to furnish meals at each meeting and adopt the $25 per year cost per member for accidental death/dismemberment insurance. Motion passed 14-1 after secret ballot. Guest Michelle Viers reported that she will be taking a mission trip to Guatemala for the Living Waters program and requested a donation to help defray expenses. Motion by M. Krill, 2nd by S. Suchocki to donate $500. Motion passed after voice vote. J. Viers reported he would like to put together a Big Brother/Big Sisters bowling team for May 6-7 and requested a donation. President Nihart advised him to get a team together and report at next meeting. Police Memorial week is May 15. Sgt-at-Arms S. Suchocki was appointed by President Nihart to appoint and head up a committee to begin plans for a service to be help on the courthouse lawn. President Nihart presented a quote to re-carpet the entire lodge. Prices are $840.49 to carpet the main area and $1,325.63 to do both areas. No action was taken. President Nihart presented a quote to add 16’ to the south of the lodge. Option #1 involved demolish the south wall, footer, slab and frame 16’ x 24’ for $5,600.00. Option #2 includes all in option #1 plus roofing and siding for $8,250.00. Motion by J. Viers, 2nd by S. Suchocki to go with option #2 and up to $10,000 total cost after receiving a written contract from Ron Coffman to be approved by executive board before work is begun. Motion passed after voice vote.
