Meeting called to order by President Stan Nihart at Lodge with the following members present: Motion by J. Arnold, 2nd by K. Beck to accept the minutes of the last meeting as posted. Motion passed after voice vote. Treasurer’s report: (refer to hard copy of minutes) B. Noethen reported that the T. Arnold Scholarship fund is currently in a non-interest bearing account and stated that he thought it should be drawing interest. After discussion, Noethen was directed to investigate how best to invest it for one year. New member: Judy Lineberger, Pioneer PD is requesting to be reinstated as a regular member. Motion by J. Arnold, 2nd by T. Szymczak to accept. Motion passed after voice vote. M. Arnold reported he will be presenting guidelines for the T. Arnold Scholarship at the next meeting. B. Noethen reported that two 8’ foot folding tables have been purchased and delivered to the lodge. After some discussion, J. Viers was directed to check prices for poker tables and report back at the next meeting. B. Noethen reported that the Lodge’s insurance coverage is currently $50,000 with the premium being $1,400 per year. After some discussion, Noethen was directed to check on better insurance coverage and premiums. B. Noethen reported the Lodge is currently paying $2.09/gallon for LP from Hoosier Propane, our current supplier. He advised we can purchase LP from Stryker at $1.49/gallon delivered. Noethen was directed to change suppliers. (it was noted the Lodge owns the current tank) J. Walker reported the new kitchen cabinets, counters and double sink are on order from Lutterbein Lumber and will be delivered within the next two weeks. B. Noethen reported paint for the Lodge meeting room has also been ordered and requested volunteers to paint. Nobody volunteered. K. Beck reported that Sgt. Roger Brown will be retiring from the Sheriff’s office effective July 31, 2007 after 32 years with that department. S. Nihart reported he had received a request for a donation to the Williams County Community ‘Save a Life Tour’ that will be presented to all schools in Williams County. Motion by J. Arnold to see first how they do with donations, then contingent on if they still need money to donate $1,000. 2nd by R. Brown. Motion passed after voice vote. S. Nihart requested volunteers to head up the 2008 Retirement Banquet. K. Beck, J. Snivley and M. Krill volunteered to serve. As of now, retirees to be honored will be Al Word and Roger Brown (WCSO), Larry Altman and Greg Brillhart (BPD), Merlin Hageman (SPD) and Jim Gauden (OSP).
